Hunger Games Casting Rumors

A lot of rumors that Jennifer Lawrence may very well be Katniss. Despite her being an Oscar nominee, part of it may be... who can they cast to be Peeta or Gale as it's a bit easier to skew a bit older than 16 (though they seem reluctant to rule Hailie Steinfeld out. Which, hey, she's an Oscar nominee too). Now there are rumors of Hunter Parrish being considered for Peeta (He'd be more age appropriate for Lawrence).

So, Gale? Haymitch? Rue? (Finnick isn't in the first book, but when cast, he needs to be awesome).

I'm satisfied with that casting. I don't really have thoughts on Gale/Haymitch/Rue, except that I suspect there will be RIOTS if Rue is played by a white actress, lol. I'll be curious if they go for a big name for Haymitch - the most common names I've seen thrown around were Robert Downey Jr. or Hugh Laurie, but then again, popular actors always end up in fancasts.

Oh, and I am 100% rooting for Armie Hammer as Finnick. :) (And you never know, the other victors may show up a bit in the first movie, since it can be a broader POV than just Katniss.)

Rue and Thresh need to be African-American actors, and Thresh deserves a climactic battle.
