*  Computer still MIA.  The tech guy said Friday that it would take him 8 hours or so to wipe the hard drive clean and re-install XP.  It's now Wednesday.

*  Talbots order also MIA.  Ordered it on the 27th.  FedEx says it reached town on Friday.  It's Wednesday and it still hasn't been delivered (called Talbots and they said it has to be late by 17 days before they can declare it 'missing')

*  Not a damn thing on TV last night (thought I did see the segment where John Stewart accidentally sliced open his hand Oops!)  I ended up watching last season's True Blood Finale.  That show is outrageously ridiculous and campy... and I find I'm in the mood for it to return.  (And Russel Eddington was an awesome villain.  I'll miss Russel).

* I've been so bored that I've been reading.  Am up to page 600-something of "A Storm of Swords."  GRRMartin really has a pessimistic view of the human condition, doesn't he...  (And I'm pretty spoiled but he's still managed at least three WTF?! moments for me so far.  Once with Berric Dondarrian, once with Jon Snow, and once with Samwell Tarley).

Jesus X Christ, five or six days to reinstall XP? You should charge them for time lost. :P

I'm wondering whether the hard drive wasn't as okay as he thought...

Even if it wasn't, I doubt it would take this long to find that out. I mean, re-installing an OS can take several hours, particularly if you're downloading all the service packs and updates and reinstalling other programs as well. I think the last time I had to install a new hard drive, install an OS and copy over all my old files, it took a day or two, because I kept going off to do other stuff while the installation and file transfer was happening. Too much longer than that, and I suspect he's actually working on other things and hasn't got around to yours.
