GoT Casting

From EW.com:
HBO’s Game of Thrones has made its first casting hire for season 2: Natalie Dormer, who memorably played the seductive and doomed Anne Boleyn on Showtime’s The Tudors, has been added to the fantasy drama’s regular cast. Dormer will play Margaery Tyrell...>

This would be Loras' sister.

I loved her as Anne Boleyn.

I enjoyed her too, and Margery has a bit of Anne Boleyn in her.

I had no idea who Margery Tyrell was. Now I know, I think that sounds like good casting. She looks quite like the bloke who plays Loras.

The character role starts small but becomes increasingly more important over the course of the novels (though in the books, it's all rather vague how much she is deliberately doing as opposed to how much the family is doing. Loras's family (as he indicated to Renly in the chest shaving scene) are another wealthy and powerful family they'll throw in the mix. (And I hope they keep Loras' and Magaery's grandmother, the "Queen of Thorns". I enjoyed her).

I'm sure there's a formidable elderly Brit character actress who will fit the role.

I'm sure they will, although the QoT doesn't show up until the 3rd book, although they could always move her up as it seems they're doing a little juggling. But the Queen of Thorns is a blunt, wiley old matriarch, which makes her fun.
