Since it's come up in the comments for the web comic, I thought I would post the end of the Lynch Spike Comic.












Text version of the end.:

Took on the Vegas mission because I was sick of playing second banana. Sick of being along for the ride. I wanted to steer the coaster...

... but no one steers the coaster. No one is in control of anything.

Innocents become dangerous. Heroes can turn on a dime. Sometimes evil can do an about face and want to help.

People come into your life. People leave. Everything is changing. Everything is always changing.

Bottom line -- the only thing any one of us is in charge of... is ourselves.

*sniffle* Oh, Spike... He's all grown up and saving alien boogs! ... Also, this issue shows how awesome the Spike series could have been.

It's also nice for someone to openly say that they love him just because. *clings to Beck, Jeremy, George, and the Asylum Gang*

Brian Lynch was not a perfect writer, and the Spike series was not a perfect series, but I will love him for god damn ever for that scene where Spike tells the bad guy that he fought the good fight when he didn't have a soul before, and he's going to do the same thing now.

Same here. I also appreciated that he gave Spike people who actually openly cared about him.

Is that out in TPB? Cause despite everything, I think I might actually like to read it. I'd forgotten how much I love Lynch's Spike, and his little gang, and the humour and the gorgeous artwork and...

In Lynch's comics, Spike mattered. Enjoyed them very much.

God, that last issue was beautiful to look at. Think we've seen our last of beautiful Spike, sadly. Instead, we get Jeanty's hideous juvenile troll version.

Yeah it's weird. There's like three pictures in the new comic where Spike looks like himself, and pretty. The Love's Leather Wings pic, the explaining the Bug's purpose pic, and the pic where he's asking for the novelty calendar. So we know Jeanty is capable if he chooses and knows what Spike actually looks like.

But that last picture and the cover picture. Yikes! What the hell? He looks like he's becoming the master!
