I hate the project I'm working on. I'm tired of being stressed out with too much to do with too little time to do it... and we are SO going to blow the budget on this one... and no way in hell am I working this weekend like I did last weekend.

One of the VP's did show up at my desk this afternoon with a bottle of champagne for my having passed the boards... yeah. Not knocking champagne. Good stuff... I'd rather have a raise.

In the "I am a total wuss and girly girl" category... I heard something crawling around in the return air vent... It's 11pm, and what do I do?

I call my Dad!

Yeah, that's the adult, female thing to do. Phone your Dad and say, "I know it's 11 o'clock, but something is in my attic! It might be a mouse! Help! I'm not going into the attic!"

[BTW -- it was a big ass roach flying around in the duct. My Dad said that he'd replaced the filter but had bought the wrong size so he had taken the filter I had left in the garage.]

So much for being empowered.

Hey, if he lives nearby... go for it. Especially if you don't have a machete or two lying around the house. :-p

Shudder! I'd rather have had the mouse.

The nearest I can ever come to something like that is at the far end of a vacuum cleaner pipe.

I grew up in a house on the edge of the woods. I can handle roaches. I might not touch one on my life, but I don't fear them.

And while I don't have some 1984 fear of mice... a mouse would be worse than a roach.

Of course I'm glad it just wasn't a possum. A year ago it was a possum that had crawled into my attic!
