My Kitty has Passed Away

Just after midnight last night, my kitty passed away.

She was a good, sweet, stubborn little girl who will be greatly missed.

Talking with you the other night helped. Though she was pretty zoned out I picked her up pet bed and all and took her to my bedroom so that she could sleep on the ottoman like always. She was such a creature of routine. She was zoned out, but occasionally she'd flail, like she was trying to rise to her feet. Earlier in the evening she'd do that to circle around to lay on her other side. So when she couldn't I'd do it for her. She seemed to be basically out of it/asleep.

I had turned off the light and had been dozing off and on when she suddenly startled to her feet a lurched toward the bed. I caught her, and kissed her head...and she went utterly limp. She was gone. She still breathed, but it was different. She had been gone from the moment after I kissed her head and laid her down. She breathed differently five or six times then stopped.

It was after midnight, but I called my mom. She drove over, to help.

My sister and father came over Friday morning and Helped bury her beneath my crimson tea roses.

She was greatly loved and will be much missed.

It is so hard to lose a beloved cat.

This icon is a photo of my cat Meg (1984-2001). We buried her under the juniper she used to love to climb. I still miss her, so much.

Those photos are beautiful. I love the way the sun shines on Carly's fur.

Carly was lucky to have twenty years of life with you as her human.

Thank you. The love we felt for them lives on. Before Carly I had a beautiful Burmese named Susie who lived to an even more advanced age, and though Susie has been gone for eighteen years, I love her still, and I'm sure I'll love Carly the same way. She was a good girl.
