Lazy Saturday

shipperxLovely morning. Perfect weather (this morning. It has become quite warm this afternoon).
I spent most of the morning on the back porch.
There's a pair of cardinals that stay in the back most of the time, and there is also have a pair of what looks like wrens. The pair of chipmunks running at the edge of the irises drive the puppy nuts. All these pairs. Reminds me of the song in Bambie about "twitterpation" being part of spring.
I also have a pair of doves. Mamma dove as a nest in my Don Juan roses and she's there all the time. This morning I watch Daddy dove sit on the back fence and coo. Then fly over and sit on the porch rail. Then fly up to the rose so that Mamma Dove could fly off and now he's settled on what must be their clutch of eggs (I don't know how well the dove shows up in the picture).
I tried to take pictures of the blue birds that live at the side of the house but they are too quick. So other pics instead:

The angelonia and petunias that I bought last weekend and have in a planter near the front door:
