Mad Men -- oh my, that was slimey, wasn't it?  Yay, Peggy.  Poor Joan. Pete... you need to be smacked. Hard.  And often.  And for that I'll add,. poor Trudy.

Game of Thrones - Now, that was an impressive display of pyrotechnics. Everyone has discussed the episode by now so I don't really have anything to add other than, nice bit of work for a TV show.

Hemingway and Gellhorn - I've just never been a Hemingway fangirl.  He just always came of as a macho ass.  But... Clive Owen is still even a little pretty while playing him.

Band of Brothers memorial day marathon -- I've seen it so many times before that I don't ever need to watch all of it, but it always works for me.  And the episode where they find the concentration camp always makes me cry.  Always.

Haven't seen the others...have Hemingway on DVR and GoT on DVR.
But did see Mad Men...and yes, very slimey. Pete Campbell never stops being creepy and slimy does he? I wanted to slap him. I thought Joan would.

And I actually was surprised by Don Draper - he was right to tell Peggy that he couldn't put a woman on the Jacquar account. And applauded Peggy Olsen for jumping ship.

But after that episode? I thought...okay, very happy I don't drive, I don't work in advertising, I am not living in the 1960s as an adult,
and I'm single and don't have to deal with men like that on a daily basis. Poor Joan.

Guh! Joan's situation sucked. How horrifying was the whole thing? Good on Peggy though.

And if you've never seen Band of Brothers, let me highly rec it. I'm no war movie buff. Most war movies I could not give a damn about, but Band of Brothers with its multiple POVs from Easy company never fails to move me.

I kind of can't believe Peggy left. I mean, I can believe that she as a character left, but I don't know how the show is going to deal with it? If we follow her in her new career, does that mean screen time for all the new people she'll be working with at the new place?

Given the situation with Lane, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole agency crashes and burns, so we may have an even bigger shake-up coming than just Peggy.

Eh, two seasons ago... and three years ago in show time, so I wouldn't be shocked if they did it again.

Well, given Lane's embezzling, she may be better off. That's not going to end well.

Well, I'll hand it to Vincent Kartheiser: I never wanted Connor in pain as much as I want Pete Campbell in pain right now. (With a little splatter on Don for that smug "Yay me, I did the right thing" smile as he walked out of Joan's apartment.) Don't suppose there are icons of Lane beating the crap out of him?

Man, this season is fucked up. In a good way, but... Man.

Definitely some on Don because part of his unhappiness was "Wah! Now I can't know that we landed the account purely on my awessomeness."
