Jan. 11th, 2005 11:41 pmMy neck and head are killing me. My head, I understand. I've gone back on my diet so it's most likely low blood sugar. My neck, I don't know. It popped (as in just rolling your head and -- ouch! not any sort of accident) and it hurts. I've taken an aspirin and am heading to bed, and I never did get to work on fanfic tonight. Jeez, this Buffy/Giles scene has got to be the slowest scene ever!
I haven't posted in a while so a few small observations/tidbits:
* The Amazing Race -- why in the freaking hell can't Jonathan/Victoria be eliminated already? He's an abusive asshole who really... I have no words. Just get rid of him. Now! And she is a shrieking harpy. At this point I barely care what team wins as long as they lose! And lose as quickly as possible.
* 24 -- makes me tense. That is all.
* All My Children-- Kendal/Ethan? Still pretty. Jonathan as manipulative S.O. abuser, not as unwatchable as it might be. He's a character we're actually allowed to hate which is sort of refreshing since I've traditionally hated the so-called "heroes."
* Days of Our Lives. Oh hell, I actually watched five minutes of it tonight while making dinner. What the hell is wrong with me? Anyway I saw the new SORASed Abby. Jeez. I feel sort of old. In high school/college J&J were my favorite supercouple of young starcrossed love, and now the kid that I saw them have on screen is now a TEENAGER! Guh! I know that SORAS is involved (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) But I actually counted it up tonight and... Abby hasn't been SORASed all that much. She's 15 and she should be (gulp) about to turn 13. (How did that much time fly by?) The casting isn't all that bad either. The girl does look like she could be a genetic cross between Matt Ashford and Missy Reeves. Speaking of Matt, also saw him on today as Jack. Looking good. Aging quite nicely. 42 and still looking yumdelicious. Missy has overbleached her hair though.
Mentioned my diet. I'm back on it. Last year I lost about 35lbs, which is great. However, I still feel like I'm only half way. I lost most of that weight relatively early in the year last year. Plateued for most of the year then I threw the diet out the window between Thanksgiving and New Years. I did finally get back on the scales today and I only gained 3 1/2 lbs back, so not too bad. Now I need to be deligent about it again. Watch what I eat. (Yeah, I'm back on South Beach -- for real, not haphazzardly. Sunday I cleaned out the cabinets and the refrigerator to elimate foods that I really shouldn't have around --I trashed the egg nog, but I did keep the biscotti. I couldn't throw that out even if I'm not really allowed to eat it).
And today I found the relatively cool site: www.fitday.com It allows you to sign up for free and enter what you've eaten item by item and it calculates the calories for you and breaks down your consumption into pie charts, tracks it against RDA rec's, will calculate the calories you burn through exercize, and chart your weight loss goals.
I'm sort of proceeding much like I did last year where my goal isn't fast weight loss but to eat like I SHOULD be eating. I noticed at Christmas that too many sweets and I just don't feel as good.
And now I'm heading to bed because my head and neck hurt.
