Spent most of the weekend at my sister's. My parents came up to see my nephew in the play (turned out is was a play by Molier. Huh. When I was in high school we just did "Hello, Dolly" and "Guys and Dolls") My nephew did a good job, I thought. Mom and Dad didn't stay. Sigh. Mom is... difficult. They are going to schedule the preliminary tests to be done so that they can schedule surgery... but they're very difficult to pin down and discuss the issue with. Very much in avoidance and denial mode. I told mom not to get overwhelmed thinking three steps down the road. Focus on the next step and go from there. Dad is upbeat saying that he would get well in no time. While I think he's rather hyper-optimistic (my sister said that probably given his history he would most likely be on a respirator--and hence ICU-- for three days if everything goes well. She did say that she spoke to Mike and he said that my dad, having never had a heart attack and having no other illnesses to speak of was a good candidate for the surgery so that's a good thing).

We all spent the night at my sister's house last night. My older nephew called home just after midnight asking someone to come pick him up because he had (he said) drunk three beers. I understood my sister's concerns that if he was calling home asking for a ride that something might be worrisome going on that he asked it, but after talking my younger nephew into calling my older nephew back to ask for the "real scoop" he said that it didn't seem to be anything. That he was simply feeling guilty for having done it. I actually tend to think it's a good sign of communication that he felt he could call home and ask for a ride. 18-year-olds are GOING to drink beer. Best to drink it responsibly. )

Bought more storage bins for my closet (it's an on-going project to clean the clutter in my closet so that I can actually reach clothes for the season without digging through clothes for last season. Have made some progress but I have a ton of shoes I need to donate to charity because, I suppose my feet have grown. I can't wear those shoes any longer.

Replaced 2 of the light fixtures in my bathroom last week (because I hated the ones that were in there). Bought a third this weekend for the ceiling fixture but I probably won't hang it until next week. I'd really love to paint my bathroom, but it has wallpaper and it's a hell of a lot of work pulling that crap down in order to paint. Don't know that I'll talk myself into that one anytime soon.

Finally, watched "Supervolcano" on The Discovery Channel tonight. Heh. Those were some obvious digitized special effects with the helicopter and the pyroclastic flow. Heh. I'm such a whore for doomsday movies. And I did work on Perfect Vengeance, but nothing so significant that I can post yet.
