Storm Update - Early AM
Sep. 16th, 2004 07:01 amThus far, nothing much. Quiet night. It's just now beginning to deteriorate here.
Down in Monroeville, where my parents live, they're getting a direct hit at the moment so Mom is on the cell calling everyone in town (I got her to evacuate up here, so they aren't actually at their house. She's calling all her neighbors now).
And I just got the whole day off (they called me as 6 am to say they had decided not to have anyone come in. We had left work yesterday thinking it would PROBABLY mean that but it wasn't made official until this morning.
But, so far, here, there isn't much of anything to tell.

Date: 2004-09-16 05:38 pm (UTC)No real damage other than my neighbor's tree murdering my tree, but it's damn darn and eerily quiet now in the wake of the storm. Still, pending news on my parent's house in Monroeville, no significant damage. Just inconvenience. The city is in a fairly large blackout.
