God has a sick and twisted sense of humor
Sep. 17th, 2004 10:36 amOkay so about 10pm last night my dad walked into the guest bedroom... then came out and asked if the cat had peed in the floor. I walked in and -- Dad, no way in HELL did one little cat pee that much! The carpet was soaked through.
Turned out that that corner of the house had water damage that I hadn't known about. Looks like one of the downspouts was overflowing on the corner of the house and that seeped into the house soaking the carpet in the guest bedroom and beginning to seep into the carpet in my bedroom closet.
The irony of all this? Two weeks ago I ordered new flooring for every room in the house. . .EXCEPT the two bedrooms (and the kitchen). Guess God decided I needed new flooring in at least one of those rooms as well.

Keep us posted on your hometown and your mom and dad's house. I hope everything is ok.
And note to the Metereological Gods: it's ok. We don't need any more hurricanes. Thank you.
