K' so with the mini-series fast approaching re-watching season three. Tonight we saw "Infinite Possibilities: Daedalus Demands"; "Infinite Possibilities: Icarus Abides"; "The Choice;" and "Fractures." Still one of my favorite arcs on television.

Spoilery discussion of the eps follow:
I love how this entire set of eps reaches back into Farscape history. Farscape history isn't disposable. In Infinite Possibilities they reach all the way back to Season 1 bringing back the Ancient/Jack from "A Human Reaction" and Furlogh from "Til the Blood Runs Clear." They remember that Crichton left that tape with Furlogh and then the writers exploit the fact that SHE would exploit that information.

I love this show's continuity. Not only do they REMEMBER what happened in the past they drag it into the present (for Season 3) and make use of it.

And Rygel has moments in this set of eps where he's both brave and wise. There's more to the little bastard than he thinks.

Crais also shows some of his mettle.

But, of course, the stars are as always Crichton and Aeryn. Furlogh tells him not to be a hero. Be the one who runs away as the hero dies. . .and of cource Crichton can't do that. Poor Crichton's death is given such dignity and such beauty. (Every time I see it, while I weep for Crichton, I become angry with Joss Whedon for not allowing Spike the same kind of dignity and affection. Spike got mall talk. Crichton got fitting goodbyes even from Crais. Damn Joss). The scene where Aeryn crawls into bed with the dead Crichon and wraps the blanket around the two of them always breaks my heart.

Aeryn in "The Choice" always breaks my heart. If she wasn't so damn strong she'd be suicidal. As it is she's lost all hope and her reason to live. She's just too strong to die. But she commits suicide in an emotional way. She even refers to herself in the past tense. She closed down, trying to will part of herself to die with Crichton.

And poor Surviving Crichton in "Fractures" so excited to have Aeryn back only to have her walk right by him. She's in so much pain she can't look at him or talk to him. For one moment in a crisis situation she forgets that this Crichton isn't HER Crichton and when the truth hits her again, it hurts. And sweet D'Argo hits the nail on the head when speaking to Crichton. Crichton calls the other guy the clone and D'Argo points out that to Aeryn THIS Crichton is the clone.

This whole series works so perfectly as star crossed angst. Crichton and Aeryn are good people. They DESERVE to be happy, but they are in so much pain. . . and there simply isn't any easy way out of it. The pain is there, and it makes sense, and there's nothing they could have done to have avoided it. . .and no quick way to bring it to the end. You empathize with them both. Sigh. Great writing.

Tomorrow night the rest of this excellent season. Great show. Frelling great show.
