And once again, a lesson in how a character should react to the impending death of a loved one.
Still reeling here, but also very very happy through my buckets of tears. What an ending. Completely fitting, completely in keeping with the tenor of the series. I want to kiss O'Bannon and Henson and pet them and call them George. Aiiiiieeeeee....
Well the difference is we have not one doubt, not even a tiny one that Chi genuinely LOVED D'Argo. She accepted his proposal BEFORE he was dying. Her actions both BEFORE and AFTER are convincing and evidence that she loved him. So as she cries and begs him to come with her and tells him she loves him. . .
YOU BELIEVE HER.
(I especially believed her desire to "kill them all" at the end because "they killed my D'Argo" (at which point she started me to crying all over again.) And he wasn't forgotten for a fucking mall speech. Little D'Argo was given a name of strength, honor, and courage... and started me to balling all over again.
Kemper and Company killed a CORE FOUR. It hurts like hell. . .but you have to respect them for that.
