Mad Men Finale
Oct. 19th, 2007 09:46 amI so knew that Peggy was pregnant! Oh, they nearly faked me out when the whole "weight gain" thing went on so long without Peggy ever freaking out and telling anyone she was pregnant. I had almost decided that they ahd changed their mind, but, come on, the set up was too perfect!
Peggy went to the OBGYN on her first day at work to get birth control, then she managed to fall right into Pete's arms and bed very damn quickly. Then, Pete gets married and she gains a bunch of weight so quickly. Pete's father-in-law urging him to have kids and Pete's declaration that he couldn't afford one sealed the matter.
And Pete's father-in-law owns Clearesil?! Dude, quit Sterling Cooper and go into business with your father-in-law!
Still damn, how much denial must Peggy have been in to not have allowed herself to accept her pregnancy?
I was also sad that Don's brother committed suicide.
And I was really hoping for Betty to claim to her psychiatrist that Don was bad in bed just to mess with Don's mind even more than she fully intended to. And I'm glad that she intended to (although, she's pretty whacked herself. Betty, don't look to twelve-year-olds for emotional validation!)
And the damn Kodak presentation nearly made me cry. These must be the same people who came up with those AT&T "call your mother" ads!
