Sure, I get a bank drawn on time, but fanfic is an entirely different story. There's no way in hell that I can possibly finish my Kinkathon assignment on time. I've sent the prologue to the betas. The prologue! I have the first 6 chapters rough drafted (and I do mean rough), but I have a least three chapters to go even on the rough draft (and those chapters contain the smut).

So what do I do instead of writing like a good little panicked fanfic writer? I watch Farscape reruns and make a stupid ICON for the fanfic I haven't finished. Sigh. Never said I was practical, did I?

Is it me, or does 1880 Spike look kind of like Dawson?

On an entirely different note, for fun and kicks, this Farscape summary is awesome.

Would the organizer consider letting you post the prologue or a few chapters on the due date as a teaser, with the rest to come later (as it's a lengthy fic)? I did this for a ficathon last fall, and it saved my bacon. The person you're writing for might be so excited to have a long fic, they'd be okay with waiting a reasonable amount of time.

The downside, of course, is that then you have to finish it later - I admit I'm having trouble with mine. But the first chapter was swell. ;-)
