Bwha! Sex on the Discovery Channel
Mar. 13th, 2005 09:15 pmBwha! The things that people do in the name of science. I just happened to surf by the Discovery Channel and for some reason it turns out that they've chosen to have a couple have sex in an MRI. Bwha! Okay, first off, these people are having sex with a room full of people watching ... not only from the outside, but from the INSIDE! (And putting it on TV).
Second of all, SHEESH! One thing is for certain, this duo could not have claustrophobia (or much in the way of modesty)! It's claustrophobia inducing for one person to be in an MRI. To have TWO people in it together, that's a tight fit. Two people in it together while trying to have sex? Well, I suppose it might distract you from the claustrophobia of being in an MRI. But quite frankly, it didn't look like the most hospitable place in the world to have sex. No maneuver room at all.
I just sort of watched with my mouth hanging open ...okay, I giggled like an adolescent!
Bwha! The things people think of to do in the name of science. *snicker*

What does MRI mean?
*Not an English/American native here* ;>

Date: 2005-03-14 08:44 pm (UTC)It's a medical diagnostic exam where they put someone inside one of these:

The person is scanned (or in this case two people in flagrante delicto were scanned... with NO room to spare).
The scane is something like a 3 dimensional x-ray as it takes images in slices, the computer puts them together and the result in a three dimensional model of both inside and out, as well as varying degrees of "intensity" (such as measuring brain activity). It's like getting a 3-dimensional x-ray that can be displayed in motion or can change to any angle in a "real-time" like process.

Date: 2005-03-14 11:30 am (UTC)What happened to just hooking people up with electrodes, etc. for that sort of thing?

Date: 2005-03-14 03:12 pm (UTC)And..er...yeah, they used the electrodes and stuff on another study in the ep (those were pretty funny too).
But the MRI thing was just flabbergasting. I got claustrophic even watching it, and I'm not claustrophobic!
wow
