* So work. Deadlines. What's new? I don't know what it is about rushing to meet a deadline that's so darn exhausting even in a sedentary job... but it is. (And of course the printer knew we were rushing and so politely decided to go on strike. Bad printer!)
* I tried checking in on BuffyForums but... confession. While I've never been a cheerleader of the comics, I at least found something fun in snarking about them. Now? Zzzz.... This whole baby plot (not to mention speculating Who's the Daddy) has me bored, bored, bored. I've seen too many soap operas, people. Who's the Daddy is always a dull, repetitive, annoying plot point. And I do. not. care. And I don't care about the baby either because we all know it's either going to be stashed in the attic, given away, or a star baby. So why even bother and not simply just say we didit a bazillion times in fanfic? It's not that a baby plot cannot be done, but in this context and with this crew? Zzzzzzzzzzz...
* I've been looking at puppies online. I've been promising myself for years that I'll get a puppy... someday. (meaning when my dear girl was gone. And not to go into the depressing details, but my poor kitty cannot possibly continue on for long. She takes the subcutaneous fluids like a good girl. But the poor baby simply does not eat to any reasonable degree and is emaciated at this point. She doesn't appear to be in physical distress, but... well... she simply cannot survive long without eating more than whatever I can beg her to drink or feed her an with eyedropper.)
So, to distract myself, I've been looking at puppies. I was looking at Goldendoodles last night. Bejeebus! They charge a LOT of money for goldendoodles. There are purebreds who are less expensive than goldendoodles. Do they not realize that a few years ago these were simply considered mutts?
I've also looked at Shih Tzu (they are a high possibility because of their temperament. But I'd want the standard not the extra-small versions)
And variations on poodles such as a Maltipoo (so cute!). Or a shih-poo. Or just straight miniature poodle (no teacup. My family has owned both, and I'd prefer the heartier size. A standard poodle would be too much though. So at least a miniature).
(And yes, rescues are acceptable. I've been searching those sites as well)
My desire is basically for a relatively small but not super-small dog that likes being a housedog, without a need for huge amounts of exercise. Just short walkies. Basically your general lap/couch dog. I also want one who is relatively young (if not a puppy) and healthy. On top of that, I don't want it to be a super yappy type (it's why I'm avoiding Yorkies no matter how utterly adorable they are.). No rush yet as I'm not wishing my dear little Carly away. It's just that she's so sad and delicate looking these days. And I really have no hope that she'll get better. It's about managing her decline at this point and ensuring that she's in no real distress.
* The weather around here is decidedly weird. It's the winter with no winter. I was walking around in flip-flops outdoors this weekend because it was in the 60s. Still is for that matter. It looks like spring around here... complete with spring tornadoes. Another relatively bad one hit just north of the city Sunday night. Destroying more neighborhoods and another school. It's so strange that weather can be so incredibly destructive (and yet it also is mostly... spring in January around here.) At least it's good for the electric bill.
