* Have lost 6lbs in the last 16 days.

*  I cannot stand the forums on myfitnesspal.com. It's like a meeting place for the self-righteous, the smug, the misinformed, and (food) conspiracy theorists (I say even as I agree that our food manufacturing really should be cleaned up).

* Liked this week's Once. Yeah, Pinnochio deserved a solid punch to the face, but Gepetto deserved a happy resolution, so I'm satisfied. One of Regina's acts is coming back to haunt her in the flesh, which is what she frankly deserves. And I'm trying to figure out the deal with Tamara. She's not magical. She's human. But neither of those things necessarily means that she's from here does it?

* Currently reading: Gary Taube's "Good Calories, Bad Calories". It's actually interesting.

TBS Renews Cougar Town

*  TVGuide on What's Next for GOT's House Stark (Not specifically spoilery for Season 3).  I will quote this non-spoilery snippet:  " A suddenly taller Bran meets up with..."  And wonder why so many people seem concerned with the fact that the kids of GOT are noticeably aging.  Yes, time moves quite slowly in the novels, so the kids in the book never make a leap in age, but that doesn't mean they aren't aging over the course of the novels.  Perhaps not QUITE as quickly, but it can't be all that  much more slowly because all of that travelling and troop movements take time.  Besides, even if the show kids are growing slightly more quickly, it's not like anything in the books is that age specific for them.  If they're a tad bit older... well, the truth is those characters read older than their listed ages anyway.

Having only read the first book in the series, I have no problem whatsoever with the kids being a bit older. There were times when it read way too much like an Enid Blyton novel where children are just as clever and calculating as adults. And that's not even getting into Martin's fascination with Danaerys's age...

I read somewhere that Bachmann is thinking (or a reasonable imitation thereof) of going after Al Franken's senate seat. I hope so, a debate between those two would be the funniest political sitcom ever.

The house across from Westboro is priceless. But I don't think it'll have any effect on the Phelpses. They seem to think that all publicity is good publicity.

Michelle Bachmann doesn't have much to fear from the House Ethics people; they aren't known for their severe and rigorous punishment. She might get a light tap on the wrist.

When I started reading the first book, I was surprised at how much younger the children characters were at the start. Sansa and Joffrey in particular. Their given ages definitely didn't match up with how they looked on the show.
