It's not in the book, but it sounds workable (and potentially more exciting.  Seriously, a siege was always going to be dead dull to watch (and could easily be handed over to pad out Brienne's plot for a little while).  Looking at where the books end (so far) and where the season ends, they'll have timeline coordination issues no matter what they do.  There's just precious little for some characters to do and a whole hell of a lot for others to do.)

With that said, I still wantJaime/Tyrion's aunt to show up).  Although, it may make more sense to let Uncle Kevan have that bit instead.

From Winteriscoming.net:

Season five casting is well under way, and it was only a matter of time before audition tapes began turning up.

The first audition to surface online this year is that of actress Tania Raymonde, reading for the role of Obara Sand. Obara is the eldest of Oberyn Martell’s daughters, known collectively as the Sand Snakes. According to the leaked casting call, the athletic Obara will be having a fight scene with a significant character.

The audition reading appears to be a scene between Obara and her sister Tyene. Tucked in details of the scene below the cut as they do contain spoilers.

In the audition, Obara and Tyene broach the topic of avenging their father Oberyn, and Obara shares the story of how he collected her from her mother long ago, with Obara choosing the spear. It sounds like the seeds of the plot surrounding Princess Myrcella are being sown in the conversation, with the mention of them “having one of them.” Most interestingly though, Obara reveals that Jaime Lannister has been sighted sneaking into Dorne, leaving some to wonder if this is the notable character who will cross swords with Obara.

As much as I love the Sand Snakes (I've been waiting for them!), my first thought was "oh, great. More characters." But the books do get more and more unwieldy as they go on, so maybe introducing new INTERESTING characters will help? Mainly I think more boring people (Bran) should die so there's room for the interesting characters.

And God help us all if GRRM doesn't have a new book out for season 6.

I truly think they'll have to consolodate some of these 'new characters' into 'established characters do this instead'.

I'd rather Gendry be placed in Brienne's story instead of newbie characters.

Sending Jaime &/or Bronn to Dorne in place of newbie character to go after Myrcella.

Lots of talk of rolling the young Dorne princes into one character rather than two (Trystan + Quentin) etc.

Martin just goes insane with these tangential plot without carrying over people we already know. Plus he diffuses plot so thinly that you easily lose track of what in the hell we're supposed to be keeping track of to begin with!

Also want Tyrion/Jaime's aunt to show up. My favorite scene in the last two books is between Jaime and his Aunt, who informs Jaime that Tyrion is his father's son, Jamie is more like his mother or something to that effect.

I always liked that scene as well. Though given the ending of Dance, I think the might substitute Kevan Lannister as he is already established (or was a couple of seasons ago) and they might like to re-establish him again.

I don't know why some of the people were freaking about Jaime in Dorne, though. I think people forget that unless they're cutting out a huge chunk of Brienne's story, there's no way they can have her find Stoneheart this season... and they aren't going to catch up to the Brienne/Jaime dance scene any time soon. And, quite frankly, there isn't that much Jaime needs to DO in the Riverlands as the Tully's are hardly an urgent threat to...well... anything. And seiges are visually uninteresting. Why NOT have him kick around Dorn for a season, then return to the Riverlands the NEXT season to then run into Brienne?

Wait, what? Jamie in Dorne? He's gone to Dorne? Oh that could interesting. That hasn't happened for me yet. Didn't see last night's episode - did it happen then?

You're correct, unless they plan on shortening Brienne's arc - having her meetup with Lady Stoneheart now doesn't quite play. You sort of need to build up to that bit. There's a few Frey's who need killing first.

Book Jaime hasn't gone nor has show Jaime... yet. But there are casting sides for Sand Snakes where they discuss Jaime having arrived in Dorn so speculation is that he may be in Dorn at least part of next season possibly taking another characters place.

Interesting...but who? I admittedly can't remember that much about the Dorn arc, it bored the heck out of me in the books - and I had troubles following it.
