No voice left from the screaming, but WHEE! We beat Tennesse and it feels good! (Sorry, Tennesse fans. But come one, Fulmer... how can we not enjoy beating Fulmer? We're human!) Anyway, hoarse but happy.

The deal on the house mom and dad were looking at fell through (the people flipping the house were either a) incompetent and have no idea how to deal with real estate. b) insane. or c) Greedy and incompetent because they think they can get more if they sell for the original asking price with a real estate agent (incompetent because if you deduct the real estate agent fee from the orignal asking price they were actually making a bigger profit THEMSELVES selling to Mom and Dad for what they were willing to pay sans real estate agent. Either way, screw the assholes. There are other houses. They're now looking at a subdivision near me in Brook Highland.

They close the sale of their house on Monday and have to be out by next Monday so Mom and Dad will be living with me in the near future (though they may well also split some time with my sister's beach house in Florida--we're all planning to spend Thanksgiving there anyway).

Sorry to hear that your parents deal fell through. Know what you mean about crazy people who want to involve real estate agents. My daughter sold her house in Tennessee 3 years ago at auction. They had offered it to the guy next door at a reasonable price but no go. He ended up buying it at auction and with the auction fees paid more than they had priced it to him. Some people have no sense. My daughter had her baby Tuesday (Big boy) so I'm headed to Birmingham tomorrow to spoil him for a few days. Have fun with your house full.
