Confuzzled
Apr. 13th, 2009 02:36 pmThe link I followed to the poll said "Vote for Your Favorite Modern Artist". The title on the window bar had top artists of the 20th Century. So I was surprised to see the likes of Renoir and Monet on the poll. I know that they may have lived into the 20th Century, but I think of them as a 19th Century artists as Impressionism was a 19th century art movement. I also admit that my first thought on reading the title as "Modern Artist" was to think Modern with capital "M" and, though Impressionism is a progenitor of modern art, I don't tend to actually think of it as Modern capital "M."
At any rate, how is one to ever pick a 'favorite' out of a list like this. It's a bit like "choose the more important physicist - Newton or Einstein."
