Heh. Okay, I've always been a sucker for these two (and not in a slashy way. That would be fictional incest or something). Still, undoubtedly Stephen Nichols just saved Matthew Ashford's job. With Ashford's leading lady about to leave the show they were going to ship him off, only now with Stephen Nichols signed back on, they suddenly re-upped Ashford's contract. Yeah, the story will STILL suck, but it's always amused the hell out of me just how well Ashford and Nichols get along.

I told my sister tonight that Patch and Kayla were coming back, and now I think we're both going to be stuck watching. *sigh* Will you let me know if you hear an actual airdate?

I'll have to double check, but offhand I THINK he appears on June 9th and she appears on June 12th. (I'd have to check around to verify).

I loved them when they were on. Patch and Kayla, Bo and Hope made great couples. I haven't watched or taped Days in years. I might just have to start again. I told my mom the Patch and Kayla were coming back and she was so happy. She's watched Days for 39 years.

I didn't watch the initial first run of Bo and Hope and during most of my "fanatic" days "Hope" was dead. However, it was actually Patch and Kayla who sucked me into the show in my teens, so I have a great deal of affection for them. It's really too bad that the writing of the show is so ridiculously AWFUL these days or I'd really be looking forward to their return. As it is, I know I'll be tuning in against my better judgement.

I've heard the writing has gone down hill. If you loved Patch and Kayla, Bo and hope is right up your alley. Hope was such a princess and Bo was a rebel. Great stories at that time.

Oh, I've seen them. I was a avid watcer from 1986-1993 (then off and on/keep tabs) since then. I was just always a die-hard Jack and Jennifer fan so Bo and Hope are sort of my forth or fifth tier couple (1.J&J, 2.Steve and Kayla, 3.Justin and Adrienne...) I know. Heresy. I think it has something to do with what age I was when each of the couples came to the fore.

oh, no! They are bringing back Patch and Kayla? I haven't watched in years, but I just might have to now. I was a fan back in the Jack and Jennifer at the Spectator and Ernesto Toscano days. Is Jennifer leaving? I think I stopped watching because they always tried to break up Jack and Jen and it frustrated me. I guess I just need some "courage." Patch and Kayla know what that means. ;)

Well, she CLAIMS she's going to leave when her contract is up because they keep killing Jack and making her sleep with other guys (I mean, like MULTIPLE times they've pulled this story). We'll see if she actually leaves, though the writing is such shit, who can blame her.

Which is actually the hell of the whold "Steve and Kayla return" thing. I mean initial feeling is "yay, Steve and Kayla" which is then immediately followed by "They've destroyed every other couple on the show and the writing is just UNBELIEVABLY awful so... on, no, this is gonna SUCK!"

As good as it feels like it might be to see them again, the show is just so damn bad that it's sort of like bringing something back just to destroy it.

Worse... I'll no doubt tune in to watch.
