Actually, I don't think they do. I think they've decided he's some spirit guide or something and he's really, real and JKR just "channeled" him (but was unworthy) or something.
Either that or it's just some massive hoax (because how can people be this nuts? How? o.O )
They can be, try our local a@@hole of a preacher. He is just insane. He thinks since he is of jewish heritage that he can literally hear God. I am too, I never heard him. Hopefully his a$$ will soon be fired, I glad I am agnostic.
