shipperxPeet? Ugh! And, am I the only one who remembers that Mulder and Scully were on the run and kicked out of the FBI during that lamentable finale episode?

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Chris Carter's upcoming X-Files movie has cast Amanda Peet and rapper Xzibit as fellow FBI agents to David Duchovny's Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Scully. The second film adaptation of the supernatural TV series will not be a sequel to the 1998 original movie but a stand-alone story, though the plot is being kept under tight wraps. The Reporter also states that Scottish comedian Billy Connolly (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events) has been given a role in the project as well.
