As someone who lived in Alaska for almost 4 years, I'm amused that all the "Alaska" parts of her speech are things that are clichés up there. It's like if Michael Bloomberg quit being Mayor of NYC and then gave a speech all about pizza, the Empire State building and giant rats.
In Fairbanks it went from -60 in the winter to 90 in the summer once. But 90 was a freak occurrence. The average temp in the summer was more often in the 70s.
