Had a garden fence installed today! Yay!

Have been wanting one forever but especially since my most recent neighbors moved in and A) rarely mow their lawn B) Are always, always, always, allllllways home. C) And are always on their back porch smoking.

Anyway, I broke down and coughed up the money to finally have a fence installed. Garden pictures behind the cut (mostly flowers, but fence is visible as well. )

They installed surprisingly fast. When are you getting yours?

Thanks!
The only problem with them is that when they bloom they tend to lay down. I'm going to have to find a way to stake them.

Thanks.

I don't have a problem with deer... primarily because behind that berm in the picture is a big apartment complex.

Ah, what a gorgeous garden! Your Don Juan is much more vigorous than ours is (although when the time it right we do get some lovely blooms from it).

It's such a climate thing. I went years babying certain roses and then one year just decided that the ones that live live and the other ones will be allowed to die. Several ones died. But the ones still in the garden that I don't have to do anything to.

Have you tried a Midas Touch? They're gorgeous, but I can't grow them due insects in our area. They bloom prolifically though and in an area that isn't plagued by insects, it would be a great rose to have in hot weather.

Roses do well here once they establish themselves through a hot summer or two. Right now we have a gorgeous pink (and I've forgotten what kind it is) flourishing next to the fig tree, and the Blue Moon does all right, and when the weather is JUST RIGHT the Don Juan is lovely -- but come summer the blooms get quite tiny.

I've never seen a Midas Touch. I'll have to look around come autumn (it's too late to plant roses now).

Ooooh, your yard is beautiful. And I have fence envy. I'd love to fence my pathetic backyard so I can go out there and let Kaiya off leash to play.

One day I want a dog (which is one of the reasons I had wanted a fence). However, kitty has first dibs.

Kaiya looks like such a cutie.

Your garden is lovely! So nicely landscaped. I have landscape envy. And the fence fits in so well, it's hard to believe it was just built.

Thanks

My planting had originally followed the property line anyway, so a fence following it worked right in.

Lovely yard and that's a nice fence. I see you can grow China roses there, that's something that we can't do here because of the cold Winters.

What a really nice fence! I don't think they do that type so high over here - we mostly have shiplap fences that are solid, but I love that open type.

Wow, what a pretty back yard. And I hate neighbors that don't cut their grass. And I'm very glad I hired a guy to cut mine! LOL

Nice! Would you like to have Oliver visit Carley? Now that you have a fence, have you let Carley out in the world or is that too much for her? Our Knock-Out Roses are going crazy. You'll have to come over and see. Your yard looks great. You will enjoy the privacy and security of a fence.
