Real Time Comments on Tonight's AtS
Apr. 15th, 2004 12:12 am1) Liked the opening scene. It's MY Spike! No a podSpike. It's MySpike! And there's Spangel bonding!
2)Harm as exposition girl. Never thought I'd write that!
3) "Tell me we're not Scoobies"... "Angel Avengers" LOL!
4) "Why am I always reconnaissance? I should get a reasonably flashy gig like 'save the girl'" (yeah we wonder that too, Spike) and love how he goes all serious when Fred is mentioned.
5) Beady little rat-snake? (LOL)
6) Changed credits. Spike now gets the cool double dusting in the credits. Fred is now Illyria. (Guess Fred is most sincerely dead) and Harm's added.
7) Poor Lorne. And he's talking about being tired. Poor Lorne. That's never a good sign. :(
8) LOL! with Harm pointing out to Angel that closing down the building so no one can get it NEVER works.
9) Nice scene with Angel and Gunn. Liked the turn in it with "For the rest of your life it should wake you up in the middle of the night. And you will. . . because you're a good man."
10)Wes is an empty ghost of a man. He's really been gutted. Poor guy. But I don't really get his story. It's a very odd dream scene with Wes/Fred.
11) Illyria ranting is interesting... but kinda draggy. And Illyria's egomania... is it all. about. Joss? Or is it Joss egomania that's all about Illyria?
12) Eve's an Immortal because she works for the Sr. Partners. Hmm... and thinking of Ep 20. Bwhahahahahahhahahahahahahaha! Knew my Buffy hate was well founded. What a freaking little hypocrit she is. She doesn't actually WANT a relationship that might work and isn't all about self destruction.
13) Still don't understand Lindsay's plan. Did it ever make sense?
15) Okay so Lindsay's kid is studying the core of the world. Wes is talking about falling to the center of the earth. And we had "The Deeper Well" in the previous episode. Am I sensing a theme?
16) LOL! At Knight Rider! That's the Spike I recognize... the one who loves schlock TV.
17) LOL! at Spike and Angel trying to avoid the light when Gunn opens the car door.
18) Wes/Illyria and the rest of the gang seem to be in entirely different episodes. But LOL! at the shout out to Tara with the "World of Shrimp"
19) Introducing themselves as Angel, Spike, and Gunn... Lol. Now there's a threesome of names and it doesn't even get an eyelash bat. :)
20) I also like the Eve/Lorne/Harm "Home Alone"/TabulaRasa scream (did I just use "like" and "Eve" in the same phrase! Yikes!)
21) Adam Baldwin is TALL!
22) Okay so Spike and Angel get shot A LOT in these scenes. So Spike and Angel get shot a lot but somehow Gunn and Lindsay aren't shot once. Convenient they only hit the superbeings.
23) Boy, Spike and Angel take a hell of a beating from the S&M guy.
24) Poor Gunn staying behind in the basement hell. :(
25) Better use of Lorne in this ep.
26) Spike also didn't like it that Hamilton said he'd joined W&H and Spike points out that has to mean something. (Yeah, we're suspicious too, Spike)
27) Whoah! Adam Baldwin is really, REALLY tall.
28) What's with the Angel/Spike mirroring this entire ep? Not only are they dressed like the Bobsey Twins, but they had SEVERAL instances in the ep where they are posed in the exact same way. Hmm....
29) LOL! at Illyria saying Wes called her a smurf.
30) So Illyria now reeks of humanity, too?
31) Wes/Illyria scenes sort of drag.
32) Nekkie Spike back. Nekkie Spike chest (not as taught as it used to be... but still, nice)
33) Seems to me that Lindsay's final speech was changed. I swear when we fist read/heard it, it was Angel as the Champion of Evil. Now the lines seem more inclusive -- Angel AND Spike (and I also got the feeling the MoG are included though Lindsay said "boys" and only Angel, Spike, and Lorne were there.) And I seem to remember that there were originally references to The First and Jasmine before. Also, what's the difference between "an" apocalypse and "the" apocalypse? I mean, an apocalypse by nature is supposed to be the end. So AN apocalypse is THE apocalypse... except in the Whedonverse.
34) So Spilliam's hair is now sandy brown again in flashbacks.

Date: 2004-04-15 01:30 am (UTC)Yes, he is indeed. My sister and friend Sydney both called me to say that when he appeared in any scene, they both screamed "Run away! It's Knowle Rohrer!" I might actually watch my sister's tape just to see this odd confluence of two characters. Both girls said that Baldwin was very "supersoldier-like" in this role.
