Life Update

It sucks. Damn. Last Friday or so I started developing a cold. It didn't seem too bad, but since then it has grown progressively worse. I'm to the point where I've coughed so much that I have a headache and my ribs ache... in a way that I know from the last two times I've had walking pneumonia. ::headdesk::

I've done just about everything I can, but that still leaves me feeling miserable and awful (though I don't have a fever). My head hurts (from coughing). My chest hurts (from coughing). And sometimes it feels like I'm coughing up a lung. This suuuuuucks.

I think the antibiotics are beginning to kick in. I'm not well, but I seem to be marginally better.

When it happened to me last spring - the doctor gave me antiboitics and cough syrup with codeine and it cleared it up quickly. Have you tried that? I'm guessing you have.

I've got antibiotics now and some weird little pill cough suppressant (never had those before. They look like vitaman e capsules. Odd).

Oh I'm sorry! that sounds... really familiar, actually. Especially the chest hurting from the cough. I hate that!

I left work yesterday and am staying home today. Hopefully that with the antibiotics will finally kick this thing.

Not good.... not good at all. I'm assuming you're planning to go see someone about this? I definitely recommend getting the Good Stuff when it comes to cough medicine, if for no other reason than to give your head and your ribs a break (I actually tore some cartilage from coughing, once... something you do NOT want to do).

GO TO THE DOCTOR. You need antibiotics at this point. And rest, lots of rest. Believe me, you could end up in the hospital! [/Jewish mother nagging] Feel better!

I'm pretty sure that there's nothing the doctor can do. I'm not running a fever or anything and I have the Advair given to me the last two times I had walking pneumonia (but you can't take that as long as you are on cough suppressants). So I think it's basically viral and... not much to be done about that except allow it to run its course.
