Quick post since I'm only on a kindle.

Good episode with lots if non-book content.

Arya/Tywin/Littlefinger scene was so nerve wracking that I don't think I heard the dialog the first time. I do think Littlefinger recognized her, so the question is what will he do with that?

Loved the way they got Arya to use one of her deaths (as they have to. They have departed from the book, but there's only so far they can go. This worked it nicely). And Jaquen's time management was lovely. :)

So what are the odds that the person informing Tywin of Robb's troop movements is not!Jeyne?

Poor Bran. (God, his screaming in the courtyard just killed me). Poor Rodrick.(Shades of Cromwell). Poor Osha, because yeesh! Talk about suffering for the cause :shudder:

And Theon is such a weasel. The boy doesn't think. He just acts -- out of weakness and desperation and neediness. The actor, however, is doing a bang-up job.

Man, they upped the Sansa/mob scene. It was not that bad in the book (at least for Sansa. Poor Lollys was gang raped... But she doesn't appear to exist in the show. Especially since Shae is Sansa's maid rather than Lolly's. Still, I'm glad I went into that scene knowing that the Hound would save her. Because it would have been awful otherwise.

Yay for a Joffrey slap but man Tyrion has to know Joff will want him dead.

Speaking of Shae, it isn't part of the book but in the series I keep suspecting that she's a plant from the beginning, a way for Tywin to keep tabs on Tyrion (the scene with Tywin forbidding Tyrion to take Shae played a lot like reverse psychology to me, and Shae telling Sansa not to trust her just reinforced this suspicion.)

Where was Jorah? I'm wondering whether the non-book dragon kidnapping is the show's way of getting Dany to the House of the Undying... As it is, I approve as it gives Dany something to do. Other than the House of the Undying stuff, Dany's plot was sort of boring in Book II. Also, heh, at the spice merchant schooling Dany. Dany has some good qualities, but the books also reveal that she definitely has a 'petulant teenager' side (not Joffrey petulant, but still 'lots to learn before she's a leader' petulance.

Like this bit in The Guardian's review:
As Game of Thrones continues so it becomes increasingly obvious that the characters are divided between those who understand the true cost of war – Catelyn, Arya, Tyrion, Tywin – and those who still see it as a game: chief among them Theon, Cersei and Joffrey...

Any episode where Joffrey gets slapped is a great episode.

But man, FUCK Theon. Joffrey at least has the excuse of being a psychopath; Theon, as far as I can tell, is just an idiot. He gets to die now. Bit disappointed that Osha didn't gut him, tbh.

Justice will more than have its way with Theon. :shudder:

I want to say "Awesome, flay away"... but on second thought, I dont want to give him more reasons to whine about how HARD and UNFAIR his life is. A quick, unsentimental death will do fine, thanks.

...God, I can't stand that character type.

Ughhh! I know, right?

At least the Lady Hornwood plot seems to have been removed, so he won't be torturing that poor widow.
