Eh. I think I'm jaded and spoiled. I want darkness to actually... you know, be DARK! I want ambiguous to be ambiguous.
1) I'm disappointed in Kate/Annie. I kept waiting for her to do something ACTUALLY ambiguous. But, no. Just good girl stuff. I mean, come on! Why couldn't she have done something actually BAD? Look, I know I'm spoiled rotten about ambiguous characters. I know I want there to be legitimately BAD stuff that needs to be overcome. Okay, so Kate wouldn't have to be Spike. But, hell, look at Farscape. Farscape had its heroine do actual bad things in her past, and I love Aeryn all the more for it. They shouldn't have made the Marshal as MUCH of an asshole. They should have let Kate do something actually bad. I was growing irritated about how "good" this so-called ciminal was. Come on, guys, a little darkness here!
2) Note: Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES develop affection for cigarette smoking blonde guy with accent. Ignore that he makes the "bad" observations that Jack was wasting antibiotics on someone who is dying. Fury will DESTROY this man and anyone who develops any affection for this character and say that they are blinded by blue-eyes and cheek bones. Do not think that he is the only legitimately gray character thus far. He smokes ergo he is eeeeevvvillllllll.
3) I still wuvs Iraqui guy.
4) Um... didn't "Kate" and Jack tell the others that there were no survivors in the cock pit? So why is she this week telling them about what the Captain said? Did she tell them that the Captain did survive?
5) Hah! Iraqui guy throws blond southern accent guy an orange. Told you! These two are destined for Buddy Guy Movie... or lots of slash ... or both.
6) So creepy orange guy does something good then stares menacingly into the distance. Ah well... he's an interesting actor.
All in all... I thought sort of an "eh" episode. Then again, even great shows turn out an "eh" so I'm not judging. . . much. I just... it annoys me that they are pretending as though "ooooh! Kate = gray" when she's the palest of pale, pale grays... if even that. She barely rates dinghy-didn't-use-Clorox-on-your-whites gray.
